Tehran: The funeral of Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi, who died in a helicopter crash , will be held in the holy city of Mashhad. Many leaders from all over the world have come to pay tribute to him. Among them is Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar. Dhankhar had reached here yesterday.
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar reached Iran
Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar paid his respects to late President Raisi and others including Hussein Amir-Abdullahian. Vice President of India Dhankhar also met the Acting President of Iran, Dr. Mohammad Mokhbar and expressed his condolences.
It is noteworthy that the first funeral was held on May 21 at 9:30 am in Tabriz city of East Azerbaijan province. After this, the ceremony took place from the holy place of Hazrat Masoumeh to Jamkaran Mosque in Qom city.

The next step was the cremation at the Mosallah of Imam Khomeini in Tehran. The final prayers were held in Tehran at 7:30 am on Wednesday. From here the funeral procession marched through Tehran University to Azadi Square. President Ebrahim Raisi will be buried in Iran’s holy city of Mashhad this afternoon. The entire country is immersed in sorrow. Lakhs of people have gathered to attend the funeral.
