Surat: The Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) Season 3 kicked off with thrilling action at the Lalbhai Contractor Stadium as debutants Ahmedabad Lions registered a commanding 9-wicket win over Srinagar Ke Veer, while Chennai Singams overpowered the Tiigers of Kolkata by 44 runs in the evening fixture.
Srinagar Ke Veer, seeking redemption after a Day 1 loss, struggled to build partnerships and were restricted to 68/9 in 10 overs. Nizam Ali (3/6) spearheaded Ahmedabad’s disciplined bowling effort. In reply, opener Sikandarbhai Bhatti starred with an unbeaten 53 off 36 balls, steering the Lions to a comfortable victory in their first-ever ISPL outing.

Chennai Singams, despite an early collapse to 8/2, recovered through Sarfraz Khan’s fiery 45 off 24 balls and contributions from Jagannath Sarkar (16). Aided by extras and late strikes from Vivek Shelar (3/15), Chennai posted 102/8. In response, the Tiigers faltered under sustained pressure, finishing 58/5, with Saif Ali (26 off 23) offering lone resistance.
