Lucknow: A tragic road accident claimed the life of a young scooty rider in the Para police station area of Lucknow. The incident occurred at Hanskheda in Sindhi Colony, where a speeding e-rickshaw, allegedly being driven rashly and negligently, collided with a scooty.
According to police sources, the accident took place at around 11:00 am on January 2, 2026. Upon receiving information, the police rushed to the spot and found that the e-rickshaw driver had hit the scooty with considerable force.

The scooty rider, identified as Sachin, son of Surendra Sharma, aged about 20 years and a resident of Shahabad, Hardoi district, sustained critical injuries in the collision. He was immediately taken to Lok Bandhu Hospital for treatment, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Police have taken the e-rickshaw and its driver into custody. Officials said that after receiving a written complaint from the victim’s family, a case will be registered under the relevant sections of law and further legal proceedings will be initiated.
The incident has cast a pall of grief over the area. Meanwhile, the police have once again appealed to the public to strictly follow traffic rules and exercise caution while driving to prevent such accidents.
