Lucknow: The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) family is celebrating a moment of joy with the arrival of a baby girl at the residence of Akash Anand, BSP National Coordinator and nephew of party supremo and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati. The happy news was shared by Mayawati herself through a post on social media.
Congratulating Akash Anand and his family, Mayawati wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that the birth of a daughter has brought a wave of happiness among party members and well-wishers. She added that Akash Anand has expressed his desire to raise his daughter with dedication towards the mission of the Bahujan society, similar to the values she has upheld, which she warmly welcomed. Mayawati also confirmed that both the mother and the newborn are healthy.
Following the announcement, BSP supporters and party workers across the state expressed happiness and extended their congratulations to the family.
Mayawati Expresses Concern Over Violence in Bangladesh
In a separate post, Mayawati voiced serious concern over incidents of communal violence in neighbouring Bangladesh, particularly against Hindu minorities. She stated that reports of attacks on life, property and religious freedom of minorities have caused widespread concern not only in India but elsewhere as well.
Referring to the recent brutal killing of a Dalit youth in Bangladesh, she said public outrage across India was natural and urged the Government of India to take immediate and appropriate cognisance of the situation. She called for a more proactive and effective role by the Centre at all levels, saying this was the need of the hour.
Mayawati further noted that while caste-based discrimination and atrocities against Dalits and Adivasis continue in India, the situation of minorities in neighbouring countries, especially Bangladesh, is deeply distressing. She emphasised that recent anti-India and anti-Hindu incidents in Bangladesh warrant stronger diplomatic and humanitarian measures, adding that such steps would have the support of the people.
