India Identifies Demonic Tendencies as Terrorism, Continues Fight Against It: CM Yogi Adityanath

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday said that India has always regarded “demonic tendencies” as terrorism and has been fighting this menace on both physical and spiritual fronts. He was addressing the state-level inauguration of the ‘Meditation for World Unity and Trust’ programme organized by the Brahma Kumaris in the presence of President Droupadi Murmu.

Calling the mind the root of both bondage and liberation, the Chief Minister said that when the mind becomes inward-facing, it paves the way for spiritual growth and global welfare. “The unrest, violence and chaos we see across the world today arise from the instability of the human mind. A restless mind gives rise to negativity, which becomes the source of conflict,” he said.

CM Yogi praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving global recognition to yoga by securing the United Nations’ declaration of June 21 as International Yoga Day. He said that positive thinking and meditation can help society establish peace, unity and harmony.

Highlighting India’s ancient wisdom, the Chief Minister said the country’s traditions emphasize transforming the mind from outward distractions toward inner stability. “When the mind is pure, the world becomes pure,” he added, recalling the teachings of Sant Ravidas.

Yogi Adityanath also lauded the Brahma Kumaris for spreading positivity through Rajyoga sessions and said their upcoming Lucknow training centre could become one of Uttar Pradesh’s finest hubs for spiritual education.

The CM welcomed President Murmu and hailed her life journey—from teacher to municipal councillor to the highest constitutional office—as an inspiring story of perseverance and dedication for every Indian.

The programme was attended by Governor Anandiben Patel, senior Brahma Kumaris leaders including Rajayogi Dr. Brahmakumar Mruthyunjaya, BK Radha, and practitioners from across the region. Earlier, the Governor and Chief Minister received President Murmu at the airport as she arrived in Lucknow for a series of official engagements.
