UP Transport Department Launches WhatsApp Chatbot: All Services Now Available From Home

Citizens can access licence, vehicle registration, tax, fitness and permit information 24×7 via 8005441222

Lucknow. In a major step towards digital governance and citizen convenience, the Uttar Pradesh Transport Department has launched a new WhatsApp-based chatbot service that will allow people to access a wide range of transport-related services from the comfort of their homes. The facility, available round-the-clock on WhatsApp number 8005441222, is aimed at making public services simpler, faster and more transparent.

Under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the department has prioritized ease of access for citizens, eliminating the need for unnecessary visits to transport offices. By simply saving the number and sending “Hi” or “Namaste”, users can instantly receive information on a variety of services.

One Chat Away from Key Transport Services

Through the chatbot, citizens can now access details about:

  • Driving licences
  • Vehicle registration
  • Tax payment
  • Fitness certificates
  • Permits
  • Other transport-related services

All information is delivered directly to the user’s mobile phone within seconds, streamlining processes that earlier required visits to RTO offices.

24×7 Availability Under Digital India Mission

Officials said the service will operate 24×7, ensuring that users can retrieve information at any time without waiting in queues or visiting physical offices. The initiative is fully aligned with the Digital India Mission, which aims to expand technology-driven, citizen-friendly services across the country.

“This chatbot will provide fast, safe and reliable information through digital means,” the department said, emphasizing that the service reinforces the state’s goal of improving transparency and user experience.

Public Encouraged to Use the New Facility

The Transport Department has urged citizens to make full use of the new WhatsApp service and share feedback to help further enhance the digital system.

With this initiative, Uttar Pradesh takes another significant step toward modern, tech-enabled public service delivery—bringing essential transport services directly to the fingertips of millions.
