UP Police Reshuffle: Major Administrative Changes as Three ASPs Transferred, One Order Withdrawn

Lucknow | In a significant administrative move aimed at strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s law and order machinery, the state government on Monday transferred three Additional Superintendents of Police (ASP) and revoked the transfer order of one officer. The reshuffle is part of the ongoing restructuring exercise within the police department to ensure efficient deployment of experienced officers in key units.

Transfer Order of Alok Kumar Jaiswal Withdrawn

According to the latest order issued by the UP Police Headquarters, the previously announced transfer of ASP Alok Kumar Jaiswal has been cancelled. Jaiswal will continue to serve at the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) in Lucknow.

His continued posting is considered crucial, especially at a time when large-scale recruitment drives, training programmes, and promotion processes are underway. The UPPRPB is currently engaged in several high-priority assessments involving thousands of candidates across the state.

Arun Kumar Singh Posted as Deputy Commandant, 32nd Battalion PAC, Fatehgarh

The reshuffle includes the transfer of ASP Arun Kumar Singh, who has been appointed as Deputy Commandant of the 32nd Battalion, Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), Fatehgarh. Although Singh was already serving in the 32nd PAC unit, his posting has now been formally shifted to the Fatehgarh location.

Fatehgarh is considered a strategically sensitive region due to its frequent deployment for election duties, law-and-order management, and large-scale public events. Officials view Singh’s transfer as a move to strengthen leadership in the unit with an experienced officer capable of handling high-pressure situations.

Jitendra Kumar to Serve as Deputy Commandant, 32nd Battalion PAC, Lucknow

Another major appointment in Monday’s order is that of ASP Jitendra Kumar, who has been posted as Deputy Commandant of the 32nd Battalion PAC in Lucknow. Known for his solid track record in crime control, special operations, and district policing, Kumar’s posting in the state capital is being seen as a strategic decision.

Given Lucknow’s high-security profile—marked by VIP movement, major public gatherings, and frequent statewide operations—his experience is expected to add depth to the city’s security preparedness.

Ongoing Administrative Restructuring in UP Police

The latest reshuffle comes amid a broader administrative overhaul underway in the Uttar Pradesh Police over the past several months. From police stations to senior field positions, the government has implemented continuous changes to enhance efficiency and accountability.

Officials noted that the objectives behind such transfers include:

  • Strengthening law and order

  • Improving departmental transparency and efficiency

  • Deploying experienced officers at sensitive postings

  • Ensuring balanced allocation of police force across the state

Sources also suggest that more transfers and postings could follow in the coming weeks, as the government prepares to implement several security and administrative projects before the new year.

The reshuffle highlights the state’s proactive approach to maintaining robust law and order across districts, especially with major festivals, public events, and political activities on the horizon.
