Priyansh Arya Makes Delhi’s 24-Member Ranji Squad

New Delhi: After his sensational 475-run performance for Punjab Kings in IPL 2025 and a century for India A against Australia A in the ODI series, 24-year-old opening batsman Priyansh Arya has earned his maiden call-up to Delhi’s 24-member Ranji Trophy squad.

Currently, Rishabh Pant, recovering from a leg fracture sustained in England, remains a doubt for the team. The Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) stated that Pant’s inclusion will depend on his fitness clearance from BCCI’s Centre of Excellence. If cleared, he could also lead the team as captain. Meanwhile, veteran pacer Ishant Sharma is not part of the Ranji squad, focusing only on limited-overs cricket this season.

Leadership Roles: Off-spin all-rounder Ayush Badoni has been named captain, while Yash Dhull will serve as vice-captain. Badoni had previously led Delhi mid-season in the last Ranji Trophy, guiding the team to two wins in seven matches, finishing fourth in Group D. Dhull, returning strongly after heart surgery, scored 444 runs in the last season and has captained Delhi in 2022 and 2024.

Delhi Ranji Squad (2025-26): Ayush Badoni (c), Yash Dhull (vc), Anuj Rawat (wk), Nitish Rana, Himmat Singh, Ayush Duseja, Rahul Daga, Rithik Shaukeen, Priyansh Arya, Arpit Sharma, Sanat Sangwan, Sumit Mathur, Shivam Sharma, Raunak Vaghela, Navdeep Saini, Simarjeet Singh, Mani Grewal, Siddhant Sharma, Dhruv Kaushik, Pravan Rajvanshi, Tejasvi Dahiya (wk), Vaibhav Kandpal, Rohan Rana, Aryan Rana (subject to fitness).

This selection signals Delhi’s intent to blend youth with experience as they gear up for the upcoming Ranji Trophy season.
