Lucknow: In a major development for Uttar Pradesh Police, 2,909 inspectors from the civil and armed police are slated for promotion to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) posts.
The Director General of Police (DGP) headquarters has released the final seniority list of inspectors from both cadres. Out of these, 2,653 inspectors belong to the civil police while 256 are from the armed police, all deemed eligible for promotion.
The promotions will be carried out against vacant DSP positions and include inspectors who have completed a minimum of five years of service. The final seniority list for promotions in 2025 has now been finalized.
The Uttar Pradesh Police Headquarters will forward the proposal to the Public Service Commission (UPPSC) for necessary approvals before formal promotions are announced. This move is expected to bolster the leadership strength across the state’s police force and provide career advancement opportunities to deserving officers.
