Hindi Fortnight Inaugurated at SSB Frontier Headquarters

Lucknow  – The Hindi Fortnight celebrations at the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) commenced on Monday with enthusiasm and dignity at the Frontier Headquarters. The event was graced by eminent linguist and educationist Prof. Harishankar Mishra as the chief guest, while the ceremony was presided over by Inspector General Ratna Sanjay (IPS).

In his keynote address, Prof. Mishra highlighted the cultural richness, scientific structure, and administrative strength of the Hindi language. He remarked, “Hindi is not only our mother tongue but is also fully capable of handling administrative and technical work.” He urged officers and staff to adopt Hindi as the language of daily work and to establish its practicality through consistent use.

Presiding over the programme, IG Ratna Sanjay (IPS) emphasized that the fortnight-long celebration is a significant initiative to encourage the use of Hindi in SSB operations. He added, “Hindi should not remain a mere formality. It must become the medium of our official work and communication.”

The inauguration also unveiled a calendar of competitions scheduled during the fortnight, including essay writing, debates, poetry recitation, creative writing, and self-composed poetry contests, all to be conducted in Hindi.

Senior officers, subordinate staff, and SSB personnel attended the event, which aims to promote the use of Hindi in government functioning and raise awareness of its importance.
