The Institute has gained 2 places in the ‘Management’ category, improving from rank 7 in NIRF Rankings 2024
LUCKNOW: Indian Institute of Management Lucknow has gained 5th position in the ‘Management’ category in the National Institutional Rankings Framework (NIRF) 2025. With this, the Institute has gained 2 places in comparison to rank 7 in NIRF 2024.
Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Union Minister of Education, Government of India, launched the 10th edition of NIRF Rankings results today (4th September 2025).
Congratulating the participating institutions for their efforts and achievements and highlighting the growing importance of quality benchmarks in higher education during the NIRF India Rankings 2025 event, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Union Education Minister, Govt. of India, said, “From 16 categories last year to 17 this year, the expansion of NIRF Rankings reflects India’s growing diversity in the higher education sector. A robust ranking framework and accreditation system will not only enhance competitiveness but also play a vital role in nation-building. While our students contribute significantly to global economies, we must also reflect on how this talent can further strengthen the lives of common people in India. Building institutions of global repute is important, but making them instruments of national development is equally critical.”

Launched in 2015, the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) rankings are published annually by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, to assess the quality and performance of higher educational institutions across the country. The 10th edition of NIRF, released in 2025, evaluated institutions under 17 categories, based on parameters including Teaching, Learning, Resource Quality, Research, Professional Practice, Graduation Outcomes, Outreach, Inclusivity, and Peer Perception.
