Lucknow – The Special Task Force (STF) has arrested Jayveer Gangwar, accused of selling software used to create fake Aadhaar cards, from Bareilly district.
Police investigations revealed that the accused sold the software to over 2,000 individuals across states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, and Gujarat. The software was being advertised through Facebook and WhatsApp groups, with Jayveer providing users with IDs and passwords to operate it.
The accused reportedly sold the fake software for ₹1,500 per person, deceiving thousands and profiting massively from the scheme. During the arrest, authorities recovered four ATM cards, a laptop, several fake Aadhaar cards, and mobile phones from his possession.

Officials said Jayveer’s operation involved systematic promotion online and direct sales, making it one of the more extensive fake Aadhaar card networks in recent times. Legal proceedings are underway, and the STF has assured strict action against all those involved in the fraud.
This incident underscores the growing misuse of digital identity platforms and the need for vigilance in protecting personal data online.
