Lucknow: Teacher’s Day was celebrated with grandeur and devotion at Vivekananda Polyclinic & Institute of Medical Sciences and Vivekananda College of Nursing, Lucknow. The event was organized by paramedical and nursing students in the presence of doctors, faculty, and dignitaries.
The program commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony and Vedic chanting led by Swami Muktinathanandaji, Secretary of the Institute. In his address, Swamiji emphasized that teachers are more than guides—they are philosophers, friends, and sources of inspiration who lead students from darkness to light. He recalled anecdotes highlighting the greatness of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and the significance of the Guru in Indian tradition.
Quoting the Bhagavad Gita, Swamiji underlined that humility, dedication, and service are essential in receiving a teacher’s blessings. “Teachers are like God. They shape lives and instill values beyond textbooks,” he said.

The celebration also featured recitations, cultural performances by students, and an official cake-cutting ceremony. Dr. Rajesh Kumar Srivastava and other faculty members inspired students with motivational words. The event concluded with a vote of thanks and colorful performances, marking the day as a memorable tribute to the noble role of teachers.
