Osaka/Lucknow: In a move to strengthen bilateral strategic cooperation and explore new investment opportunities, a high-level meeting was organized by the Uttar Pradesh delegation and Invest UP at the prestigious India Club in Kobe, Japan. The event brought together key representatives and industry associations from both India and Japan.
The meeting was attended by a number of distinguished guests, including representatives from the Osaka Prefecture; the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) Kansai; the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Kobe; the Indian Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO); the Nippon Indo Cultural and Economic Center (NICE); the Indian Chamber of Commerce Japan (ICCJ); and the Consul General of Japan, Chandru Apar.
During the discussions, a significant decision was made to institutionalize regular dialogue between Invest UP and their Japanese counterparts. This will create a framework for sustained economic cooperation and the generation of new investment opportunities between the two regions.

Morabu Hanshin Company Explores Global Capability Center in UP
In a separate strategic meeting in Osaka, Invest UP officials met with the leadership of MORABU HANSHIN Industry Co., Ltd. The Japanese company, which currently recruits students from IITs, has expressed a keen interest in also hiring talented youth from leading technical institutions in Uttar Pradesh.
Morabu Hanshin is also considering the possibility of establishing a Global Capability Center (GCC) in Uttar Pradesh. The company praised the state’s skilled workforce, innovative potential, and investment-friendly policies. This step is seen as a major milestone for deeper collaboration in technology, talent development, and applied research.


UP Pavilion Shines at World Expo 2025
The Uttar Pradesh pavilion at the World Expo 2025 continues to draw global attention. Operating under the theme “Crafted in Uttar Pradesh, Admired by the World!”, the pavilion showcases products from the state’s One District One Product (ODOP) scheme. Items on display include fine Banarasi textiles, intricate Shajar stone cufflinks, and delicate metal crafts.
These exhibits are a testament to Uttar Pradesh’s rich tradition, skill, and exquisite craftsmanship, presenting the state’s cultural heritage on a global stage. The popularity of the ODOP products among international visitors underscores their global appeal.
