New Delhi  — The Billie Jean King Cup Finals 2025 will officially commence on September 16 in Shenzhen, China, with defending champions Italy facing hosts China in the opening quarterfinal. The tournament’s organizers confirmed the schedule on Monday, marking a shift from its traditional November slot.

Italy will be spearheaded by World No. 9 Jasmine Paolini, while China’s challenge will be led by Olympic gold medalist Zheng Qinwen, setting the stage for a high-octane opener between two of the tournament’s strongest contenders.

The change in dates has been made to align the competition with the WTA Tour’s Asian swing, ensuring better participation and seamless scheduling for the players involved.

The second quarterfinal, between Spain and Ukraine, will take place on September 17, featuring World No. 10 Paula Badosa representing Spain. On September 18, the United States will face Kazakhstan, while Great Britain will clash with Japan, completing the quarterfinal lineup.
