SBI Lucknow Celebrates 70th Foundation Day with CSR Initiative Benefiting Matrichhaya Ashram

Lucknow : The State Bank of India (SBI) marked its 70th Foundation Day with a heartfelt Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative led by the Lucknow Circle. On this special occasion, SBI extended vital support to Matrichhaya Ashram, a shelter home dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of homeless and mentally challenged women.

In a gesture of compassion and social commitment, Chief General Manager Deepak Kumar De handed over a cheque of ₹5 lakh, along with food supplies, clothing, and other essential items to Umeed Sansthan, the organization actively working with Matrichhaya Ashram.

Harpreet Singh, a representative of Umeed Sansthan, expressed sincere gratitude to SBI for its generous contribution. “This support will go a long way in improving the quality of life and care for the women at the shelter. We thank SBI for standing with us in our mission,” he said.

The CSR event witnessed the participation of General Managers, Deputy General Managers, and staff members from across the SBI Lucknow Circle. Their presence reinforced SBI’s continued commitment to inclusive growth and social responsibility.

As India’s largest public sector bank, SBI has consistently used its wide reach and resources to uplift underprivileged communities, particularly through healthcare, education, and welfare projects under its CSR mandate.

With this initiative, SBI not only celebrated a legacy of seven decades of financial excellence but also underscored the human values at the core of its institutional philosophy — service, compassion, and nation-building.
