Lucknow : In an effort to maintain law and order and ensure public safety, Inspector Rajesh Tripathi of Wazirganj Police Station conducted an intensive foot patrol along with his police team on Monday. The patrol began from City Station and continued up to Daliganj Crossing, covering a high-traffic zone known for congestion and street violations.
During the patrol, the police intercepted two-wheelers carrying three passengers, an illegal practice, and conducted thorough checks. Riders without helmets were also stopped and issued stern verbal warnings regarding road safety norms.
The team didn’t limit its checks to just motorists. Street vendors, particularly fruit sellers placing carts in the middle of the road, were strongly reprimanded. Inspector Tripathi directed them to strictly place their carts within the designated vending lines, warning that strict action would be taken in case of accidents caused by such encroachments.
“We want to ensure that roads remain safe for everyone—motorists, pedestrians, and vendors alike,” said Inspector Tripathi. “Encroachments on busy roads can lead to fatal accidents. We will not hesitate to take strict action if the rules are violated.”
The patrolling initiative is part of a broader drive by Lucknow Police to clamp down on traffic violations, illegal parking, and road encroachments, especially in crowded urban zones.
