Lucknow: In a swift breakthrough, the Rahimabad Police team under Lucknow Commissionerate has successfully solved a murder case reported on June 16, 2025. Two prime accused, Sunil Kumar Gautam (44) and his son Divyansh (19), both residents of Nayak Nagar, Sitapur Road under Madiyaon Police Station, have been arrested.
Case Background:
The complaint was lodged by Smt. Ramdulari, a resident of Hamidkheda, Mawaikala under Rahimabad Police Station, stating that her son had been murdered by two unidentified individuals. A case (FIR No. 93/2025) under sections 332/115(2)/352/103(1) of the BNS was registered against unknown accused.
Investigation and Arrest:
The investigation, led by SHO Anand Kumar Dwivedi, promptly identified the father-son duo based on collected evidence. Acting on a tip-off from an informant, the police team arrested the accused near Jalamau Modh on Hardoi-Lucknow Road on the evening of June 16.
Confession and Motive:
During interrogation, the accused confessed to committing the murder due to an extramarital affair-related conflict. The police recovered the murder weapons — one knife, one gandasa (sharp weapon) — and a Pulsar motorcycle (Reg. No. UP32 FX 6745) used in the crime.
