Six Emergency Sirens Donated to District Administration for Public Safety

Lucknow — In a significant step towards strengthening urban disaster preparedness and public safety, Chief Warden of Civil Defence, Amarnath Mishra, handed over six emergency-use sirens to District Magistrate Vishak G. in a brief ceremony held  at Abdul Kalam Hall, District Collectorate Office.

While presenting the sirens, Mishra highlighted that several existing sirens installed across key locations in the city have become non-functional, thereby posing a risk to public alert systems in case of emergencies. In light of this, the sirens have been donated for public interest and safety to help restore and enhance the city’s early warning infrastructure.

Acknowledging the initiative, District Magistrate Vishak G. directed concerned officials to prioritize the replacement of non-functional sirens and repair those that can be restored. He further instructed that additional sirens should be installed as needed to ensure a robust emergency response mechanism.

The event was also attended by Additional District Magistrate Amit Kumar Singh, Staff Officer to Chief Warden Ritu Raj Rastogi, Deputy Controller Anita Pratap, and ADC Manoj Verma.

The gesture was lauded as a collaborative example of civic responsibility and administrative coordination for public welfare.
