Bigg Boss Goes Rural: Woman-Centric Reality Show ‘Gori Chale Gaon’ to Begin Shooting in Sehore

Bhopal : India’s most popular reality show, Bigg Boss, is all set to get a rural makeover. A new woman-centric edition titled “Gori Chale Gaon” will begin filming next week in a village in Sehore district, Madhya Pradesh. This experimental version will be produced by Banijay Asia, the same production house behind Bigg Boss and Khatron Ke Khiladi for Colors TV, and will air on Zee TV.

A Twist in the Format: City Glam Meets Rural Life

Unlike the traditional Bigg Boss format, Gori Chale Gaon will focus exclusively on female contestants—celebrities, actresses, and social media influencers used to urban luxury—who will be transported into a fully rural setup. Here, they’ll be stripped of modern conveniences and will have to adapt to the simplicity and challenges of Indian village life.

Contestants will engage in daily chores such as milking cows, drawing water from wells, cooking on traditional stoves, and working in fields. Around 15 female participants are expected to live in the specially constructed rural house modeled after village homes, with no access to phones, assistants, or vanity vans.

Reality With a Social Purpose

According to sources, the show is being designed as a social experiment blended with reality entertainment. Much like survival-based reality formats, Gori Chale Gaon aims to test resilience, adaptability, and human connections in a rural setting. The first shooting schedule is expected to run for approximately three months.

The show’s concept draws inspiration from the popular Marathi reality series “Jau Bai Gavat” on Zee Marathi, but will be presented in a more amplified and nationally appealing format.

Launch Date and Host Yet to Be Finalized

While the official launch date is yet to be announced, industry insiders suggest that television personality and actor Rannvijay Singha is a strong contender to host the show. If finalized, his experience with rugged and youth-centric formats like Roadies could bring the perfect edge to Gori Chale Gaon.

More Than Just Entertainment

The creators say Gori Chale Gaon aims to bridge the cultural gap between India’s urban and rural landscapes. By immersing privileged urban women into village life, the show will highlight traditional values, hard work, and the real India that thrives outside metro cities.

As anticipation builds, Gori Chale Gaon promises to be more than just a reality show—it hopes to be a reflective and immersive journey into India’s heartland, offering viewers both entertainment and insight.
