PM Modi to Visit Four States in Two Days, Launch Projects Worth Over ₹70,000 Crore

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a whirlwind two-day tour across four Indian states — Sikkim, West Bengal, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh — on May 29 and 30. During this visit, the Prime Minister is set to unveil and inaugurate development projects worth more than ₹70,000 crore, along with participating in several public rallies and roadshows.

Day 1: Sikkim – Celebrating 50 Years of Statehood

PM Modi will begin his tour in Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. At a grand event at Paljor Stadium, he will participate in the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of Sikkim’s merger with India. The Prime Minister will release a commemorative postage stamp and a memorial coin to mark the occasion.

Additionally, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for multiple development projects, including:

  • A 500-bed district hospital in Namchi, South Sikkim (₹750 crore)

  • A passenger ropeway in Pelling, West Sikkim

  • The installation of a statue of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee at Atal Amrit Udyan in Sangkhola, Gangtok district

West Bengal – Infrastructure Boost for Urban Households

Following his visit to Sikkim, PM Modi will head to West Bengal where he will lay the foundation stone for a City Gas Distribution (CGD) project. The project, valued at ₹1,010 crore, aims to supply PNG gas to over 2.5 lakh households and more than 100 commercial establishments.

Bihar – Major Airport Infrastructure Projects

Later in the day, the Prime Minister will reach Patna, where he will inaugurate the new passenger terminal of Patna Airport, constructed at a cost of ₹1,200 crore. The terminal is designed to handle up to 10 million passengers annually. He will also lay the foundation stone for a new civil enclave at Bihta Airport.

Day 2: Bihar – Mega Development Push Worth ₹48,520 Crore

On May 30, PM Modi will return to Bihar for a massive rollout of development initiatives worth ₹48,520 crore. The day will witness multiple inaugurations and foundation stone-laying ceremonies aimed at transforming infrastructure, energy, and connectivity in the state.

Uttar Pradesh – Powering the Future in Kanpur and Noida

Post Bihar, the Prime Minister will fly to Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh. There, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation for development projects worth ₹20,900 crore.

In response to growing power demands, PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone for a 220 kV substation in Sector 28 of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), Noida. In Greater Noida, he will inaugurate 132 kV substations at Ecotech-8 and Ecotech-10, built at a cost of over ₹320 crore.

A Vision for Inclusive Development

The multi-state tour underscores the government’s commitment to balanced regional development, infrastructure enhancement, and public welfare. From healthcare and clean energy to transportation and digital infrastructure, the projects cover a broad spectrum of needs, reflecting PM Modi’s vision of a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India).

With over ₹70,000 crore in project investments across Sikkim, West Bengal, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh, the Prime Minister’s visit is poised to be a landmark in India’s ongoing journey toward accelerated development.
