Lucknow — In a significant move to strengthen the party’s grassroots presence in Uttar Pradesh, the Indian National Congress will host a major Organisational Restructuring Workshop on May 17, as part of its ongoing nationwide Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan (organisation creation campaign). The workshop, directed by the All India Congress Committee (AICC), will take place in the presence of senior leaders and aims to revamp the party’s structure ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.
According to AICC General Secretary and UP in-charge Avinash Pandey, the workshop is being held in alignment with the vision of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, senior leader Rahul Gandhi, and AICC General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. The goal is to build a strong, functional organisation across every district of Uttar Pradesh.

Workshop Objectives
Avinash Pandey said the workshop is being conducted to ensure an effective grassroots-level structure across the state. “This workshop will inspire and energise our party workers by offering a fresh perspective on organisational management. We aim to build a powerful and responsive party structure that serves as the voice of the people against the misrule of the BJP government,” he stated.
Five-Tier Structure by 2027
Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai reaffirmed the party’s commitment to implement the directives laid out in the Ahmedabad Convention within a time-bound manner. He revealed that the UP Congress will create a five-tier structure — comprising district, zone (mandal), block, Nyay Panchayat, and booth levels — to prepare for the 2027 elections.
“We will not only strengthen the main organisational structure but also ensure better coordination with all frontal bodies, departments, and cells in line with the directives of the Indian National Congress,” Rai said.
The upcoming workshop is being seen as a key step toward rejuvenating the Congress party in Uttar Pradesh — a state that remains electorally crucial for the party’s revival at the national level.
