Bareilly: A five-day Drone Bootcamp was ceremoniously inaugurated at the Rohilkhand Incubation Foundation, located on the campus of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University, Bareilly, on May 7. The training program, which will run till May 11, 2025, is being organized in collaboration with IIT (ISM) Dhanbad and is sponsored by Indian Oil Corporation and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India.
The camp was formally inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor and Chief Patron, Prof. K.P. Singh, who extended his best wishes to the participants and emphasized the growing importance of drone technology in various sectors.
The bootcamp is being coordinated by a team from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad comprising Prof. Ravi Kumar Gangwar, Prof. Jaysingh T, and Prof. Samrat Mukhopadhyay. Prof. Yatendra Kumar, Chief Operating Officer of the incubation foundation, is providing key mentorship and guidance throughout the event.
During the inaugural session, the visiting experts from IIT Dhanbad were felicitated by Prof. Yatendra Kumar (Program Coordinator), Prof. S.S. Bedi (Sports Secretary, University Sports Council), Prof. Anil Singh (Head, Electronics Engineering Department), Dr. Ajay Yadav, Dr. Mukul Kumar Gupta, and Dr. Jyoti Pandey (Cultural Coordinator).
Around 120 students from Bareilly and nearby districts are participating in the bootcamp. The program is designed to provide participants with comprehensive knowledge ranging from the basics of drone technology to hands-on experience in drone assembly.
On the first day, experts including Dr. Kundan Kumar, Dr. Varun Chaudhary, and Akshraj delivered sessions on aerodynamics and sensor technology used in drones, laying the foundation for deeper technical insights in the coming days.
The bootcamp is being smoothly managed under the leadership of Mr. Robin Kumar (Incubation Manager) and Ms. Ayushi Agrawal (Operations Executive), along with the support of Mr. Tapan Verma and the organizing team.
