Minister A.K. Sharma Flags Off ₹17.26 Cr Worth of Modern Sanitation Equipment in Ghaziabad, Reviews Urban Development Projects

Ghaziabad/Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Urban Development and Energy Minister A.K. Sharma conducted a comprehensive review of Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation’s development works on Wednesday, focusing on sanitation, drainage, water supply, and garbage management.

During his visit, the minister flagged off modern equipment worth ₹17.26 crore, including 3 road sweeping machines, 5 anti-smog guns, 8 backhoe loaders, and 13 wheeled skid loaders, aimed at improving urban cleanliness and environmental health.

Minister Sharma emphasized pre-monsoon drain cleaning and strict action against encroachments on drainage lines to prevent waterlogging. He ordered regular operation checks of pumping stations and proper utilization of manpower and machinery for sanitation.

He instructed improvement in door-to-door garbage collection, full operation of portable compactors, and fines for public littering. He also reviewed the condition of vending zones, ponds, Gaushalas, and urged proper maintenance of planted saplings and beautification of public spaces.

The minister asserted that no negligence in civic services will be tolerated and directed officials to ensure cleanliness, safety, and beautification across Ghaziabad. Senior civic and Jal Nigam officials, along with the Mayor, attended the review meeting.
