Fire Department Gears Up for Holika Dahan
In preparation for Holika Dahan, the fire department is on high alert. Key locations where large-scale Holika Dahan celebrations take place have been identified. Sensitive areas have been divided into sectors and zones for better monitoring.
On the eve of Holika Dahan, 60 fire tenders and hydraulic platforms will be deployed at designated spots with officials and personnel in place. Additionally, 16 motorcycles equipped with mist technology will patrol different areas to raise public awareness. Last year, over 200 locations witnessed large-scale Holika Dahan, and this year, similar sites have been identified. The fire department is set to hold meetings with event organizers to ensure safety protocols are in place.
Special Focus on Vulnerable Areas
Authorities will keep a close watch on locations near slums, as well as areas with old and fragile electrical wiring. Coordination with the electricity department has been established to repair damaged wires in advance. District Fire Officer Manoj Kumar Nat stated that more than 60 fire tenders and 16 mist-technology-equipped motorcycles will be deployed. A dedicated fire tender will be stationed at major Holika Dahan sites. The fire department is also actively conducting awareness campaigns among citizens.
Safety Guidelines for Holika Dahan
Citizens are advised to follow these precautions:
- Maintain a safe distance from the fire; keep children and elderly individuals away.
- Exercise extra caution if the wind is strong during Holika Dahan.
- Be mindful of clothing and hair while performing rituals.
- Choose a location that is away from crowded areas.
- Avoid lighting the fire near buildings, trees, or electrical wires.
- Select a flat surface, as fires on slopes can spread rapidly.
- Use only wood and cow dung cakes; avoid highly flammable materials.
With these extensive security and safety measures in place, the Bihar administration aims to ensure a peaceful and incident-free Holi celebration across the state.
