50,000 INR Rewarded Murder Accused Arrested

Basti’s Killer Nabbed in Maharashtra!

Amravati (Maharashtra)/Basti (U.P.): In a significant breakthrough, the Special Task Force (STF) of the Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested Kamlesh Kumar, a murder accused with a bounty of INR 50,000 on his head, from Amravati in Maharashtra. Kamlesh, a resident of the Kaptainganj police station area in Basti district, was wanted for charges of murder and destruction of evidence. This operation underscores the fact that no matter how far a criminal runs, the long arm of the law eventually catches up.

According to sources, Kamlesh Kumar was involved in the brutal murder of Godavari and her daughter Soumya due to a family property dispute. After committing the heinous crime, he attempted to destroy the evidence by burning the bodies. While four other accused in this gruesome case are already behind bars, Kamlesh had been evading arrest by hiding in Amravati.

In response to the rising activities of rewarded criminals in Uttar Pradesh, various STF teams had been working tirelessly to apprehend them. Under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent of Police Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Dixit, an STF team received intelligence about Kamlesh’s whereabouts in Amravati. Acting swiftly, Inspector Om Shankar Shukla and his team cordoned off the area and arrested Kamlesh from Ambedkar Tiraha, under Badnera police station limits in Amravati district.

At the time of his arrest, Kamlesh was found in possession of INR 2,000 in cash and an Aadhaar card.

Following his arrest, Kamlesh was taken to Badnera Police Station in Amravati and produced before the First Class Judicial Magistrate, Court No. 11, Amravati, for transit remand. The court granted the transit remand, expediting the process of bringing Kamlesh back to Uttar Pradesh for further legal proceedings.
