Lucknow: The Directorate of Sports, Uttar Pradesh, successfully organized the State-Level Women’s Hockey and Tennis Competitions under the Women’s Sports Festival 2024. The events were held from 18 to 20 November 2024 at Guru Govind Singh Sports College and K.D. Singh Babu Stadium, Lucknow, showcasing the sporting talents of women across the state.
Hockey Competition
Eighteen teams, representing different divisions of Uttar Pradesh, participated in the highly competitive state-level hockey tournament.
Inauguration
The hockey competition was inaugurated by Engineer Avnish Kumar Singh, Member, Legislative Council, Uttar Pradesh. The opening ceremony featured the introduction of players to distinguished guests, including:

- Lucknow Division vs Agra Division: Lucknow defeated Agra 11-0.
- Devipatan vs Basti Division: Basti received a walkover as Devipatan did not participate.
- Kanpur Division vs Azamgarh Division: Kanpur triumphed over Azamgarh 3-2 in a shootout.
- Chitrakootdham vs Ayodhya Mandal: Ayodhya defeated Chitrakootdham 3-0.
- Mirzapur Division vs Aligarh Division: Mirzapur overcame Aligarh 3-2.
- Meerut Division vs Moradabad Division: Meerut won 1-0.
- Gorakhpur Division vs Saharanpur Division: Gorakhpur dominated Saharanpur 6-0.
- Bareilly Division vs Prayagraj Division: Prayagraj secured a 2-0 victory over Bareilly.
Tennis Competition
A total of 60 players participated in the state-level women’s tennis matches, held at K.D. Singh Babu Stadium.

The tennis competition was inaugurated by Shri S.S. Mishra, Deputy Director Sports, who also introduced the participants.
