Talented players show their sporty side in Women’s Sports Fest

Lucknow: As per the directives of the Sports Directorate, Uttar Pradesh, the state-level women’s hockey and tennis competitions are being held  from November 18 to November 20, 2024. The events are hosted at Guru Govind Singh Sports College, Lucknow, and K.D. Singh Babu Stadium, Lucknow. The competitions are part of the Women’s Sports Festival and aimed at fostering athletic talent among women.

Tennis Competition Highlights

The tennis events concluded on November 19, 2024, with an awards ceremony officiated by the Regional Sports Officer, Lucknow, at 12:00 PM. The winners and participants were felicitated with awards.

Doubles Matches

  1. Match 1:
    • Winners: Satakshi & Shagun (Walkover).
  2. Match 2:
    • Contestants: Navya & Jamjam vs. Swatika & Abhilasha.
    • Result: Navya & Jamjam won 4-1.
  3. Match 3:
    • Contestants: Sonali & Rishibha vs. Ishita & Agamya.
    • Result: Sonali & Rishibha won 4-0.
  4. Match 4:
    • Contestants: Sukhman & Raminder vs. Ayra & Sasa Katiyar.
    • Result: Ayra & Sasa Katiyar won 4-1.

Doubles Semi-Finals

  1. Semi-Final 1:
    • Contestants: Satakshi & Shagun vs. Navya & Jamjam.
    • Result: Satakshi & Shagun won 4-0 to enter the finals.
  2. Semi-Final 2:
    • Contestants: Sonali & Rishibha vs. Ayra & Sasa Katiyar.
    • Result: Ayra & Sasa Katiyar won 4-1 to secure their spot in the finals.

Doubles Final Match

  • Contestants: Satakshi & Shagun vs. Ayra & Sasa Katiyar.
  • Result: Satakshi & Shagun triumphed 4-2 in straight sets to claim the Women’s Sports Festival Tennis Doubles Championship.

Singles Matches

  1. Semi-Final 1:
    • Contestants: Satakshi Chaudhary vs. Ayra.
    • Result: Satakshi Chaudhary won 4-0 to advance to the finals.
  2. Semi-Final 2:
    • Contestants: Sasa Katiyar vs. Shagun Kumari.
    • Result: Shagun Kumari won 5-3 to qualify for the finals.
  3. Final Match:
    • Contestants: Satakshi Chaudhary vs. Shagun Kumari.
    • Result: Satakshi Chaudhary defeated Shagun Kumari 4-1 to clinch the Women’s Sports Festival Tennis Singles Title.
