Naushad Award for Mithoon, Palak, Sonam and Radhika

Young Artika Bhattacharya to Join Legendary Singers at Awadh Festival

Lucknow: Renowned music composer Mithoon Sharma and playback singer Palak Muchhal, along with Sufi singer Sonam Kalra and ghazal singer Radhika Chopra, will be conferred with the Naushad Award this year.

The award will be presented at a ghazal mahfil organized at Surya Auditorium on November 23. Sonam Kalra, Radhika Chopra, and young singer Artika Bhattacharya will perform at the event.

Lieutenant General Anindya Sen Gupta, Chief of Staff, and other military officials will also attend the program.

Organized by Hunar Creations and Craft Association, the Awadh Festival series will honor the legendary musicians with the Naushad Award, named after the iconic music composer Naushad.

This year’s awardees include:

– Mithoon Sharma: Music composer known for his work in films like “Gadar 2”
– Palak Muchhal: Playback singer
– Sonam Kalra: Sufi singer and Grammy Recording Academy member
– Radhika Chopra: Ghazal singer

Sonam Kalra, creator of the Sufi Gospel Project, is the only Indian musician to have won three Global Music Awards in the same edition and the first Indian woman to win a gold medal.

Radhika Chopra, an internationally acclaimed ghazal singer, and Bollywood singer Artika Bhattacharya will perform for the first time in Lucknow.

The association has previously honored several renowned artists, including Amjad Ali Khan, Shivkumar Sharma, Hema Malini, Rekha Bhardwaj, Sonu Nigam, Talat Aziz, and Anoop Jalota.

Mithoon and Palak will be felicitated at the next event in December due to their unavailability.

The event aims to bring world-class music performances to Lucknow, showcasing the city’s rich cultural heritage.
