Lucknow: A special meeting was held in the new committee room regarding anti encroachment activities under the chairmanship of the Mayor. Necessary guidelines were issued after reviewing the ongoing works in the zones. The Mayor became strict regarding garbage lifting, encroachment and camps etc., gave instructions for immediate action. Instructions to all the zonal officers and others including the Additional Municipal Commissioner to remain in the field daily.
In the meeting held in the Rajkumar Committee Hall of the Municipal Corporation Headquarters, Mayor Sushma Kharkwal and Municipal Commissioner Inderjit Singh held a meeting with all the officers of the Municipal Corporation and all the responsible officers of the zones and mainly gave necessary guidelines regarding illegal encroachment and other works. In the meeting, the status of the anti encroachment campaign was known from the concerned officers, on which the concerned presented the following information:-
In continuation of the above, instructions were given to properly carry out the action of removing encroachment under Zone 01. Along with this, the in-charge of the zone as well as the Additional Municipal Commissioner were also instructed to ensure action against illegal encroachment before them. Mayor gave. The concerned officer of the zone said that the campaign is being run continuously, as soon as the availability of police force is made available for the campaign, the campaign will be conducted on a large scale.
The concerned officer said that the campaign will be run by identifying illegal encroachment under Zone 02. Apart from this, it was said that regular campaigns will be run in the affected areas. Also, instructions were issued to remove the identified encroachment immediately.
In Zone 03, the concerned said that the complaints related to encroachment received through IGRS or post are being resolved immediately. Tax Superintendent Banarasi Das was made in-charge of the encroachment campaign.
Under Zone 04, the process of shifting those people who have set up shops in the non-vending zone unauthorizedly and are promoting encroachment is going on. Also, instructions were given to shift the ready-made track vendors to the vending zones created or the vending zones being created for the future.
Under Zone 05, it was said that the campaign would be run as per the roster. Also, orders were given to run the campaign especially in Charbagh.
In Zone 06, the concerned informed that Buddheshwar crossing has been completely cleared by conducting 16 big campaigns in the last 30 days. Also, instructions were given to run special campaigns by identifying encroachments in other influential areas.
In charge of Zone 07 informed that Bhootnath market which was in disarray has been arranged. Also, regular campaigns are being conducted with the help of Hon. Councillors.
In charge informed that under Zone 08, 22 disarranged vending zones have been arranged and a fee of about 169000 has been collected. Also, Khazana market was made encroachment-free by resolving complaints of encroachment. Campaigns are being run regularly and complaints are being redressed.
In this sequence, Mayor issued necessary guidelines, details of which are as follows:-
The Mayor issued instructions to prepare all the proposed vending zones within 15 to 20 days, otherwise the Zonal Officer will be held accountable. Also, instructions were given to work in coordination with the officers of all the concerned departments for the campaign and redressal of complaints.
Apart from this, instructions were given to ensure cleanliness in lanes etc. apart from the main roads within the next 15 days, in case of negligence and incomplete work, action will be taken against the Zonal Officer directly. Also, all the Additional Municipal Commissioners and Zonal Officers as well as ZSO and SFI were also instructed to remain in the field continuously.
Necessary guidelines were also given to the city health officer for controlling communicable diseases. Under which, orders were given to work jointly for regular fogging and cleanliness and to make people aware, etc. Instructions were given to prepare a concrete plan to remove the dairies i.e. cows and buffaloes outside the city, instructions were given to take action against the operators who violate the rules.
Along with this, instructions were given to change the zone of old and long-time posted engineers within a week. In order to review the above-mentioned instructions, instructions were given by the city commissioner to hold a meeting soon under the chairmanship of the Mayor.
