Lucknow: Urban Development and Energy Minister A.K. Sharma did a field inspection of the 10 MTD Material Recovery Facility (MRF) Center constructed by Lucknow Swachhata Abhiyan at a cost of about one crore in Gwari area of Lucknow in the presence of Mayor Sushma Kharkwal and Municipal Commissioner Inderjit Singh. The purpose of the visit was to review the system of waste management and recycling in Lucknow city and to assess the efforts being made to make it more efficient.
Gwari MRF Center, which has a capacity to sort and recycle 10 metric tonnes per day (MTD) of waste, is a state-of-the-art facility operated by Lucknow Municipal Corporation. This center is playing an important role in the process of collection and recycling of solid waste, which is helping in making Lucknow a clean and environmentally friendly city.
On this occasion, Urban Development Minister A.K. Sharma said that Gwari MRF Center is proving to be a major pillar in the cleanliness of Lucknow. This center is capable of properly sorting the waste and sending it for recycling, which is helping in maintaining the environmental balance of the city. Our aim is to make Lucknow a leader in cleanliness by establishing more such centers. The role of Gwari MRF Center is very important in cleanliness and environmental protection. This MRF center is not only ensuring the correct disposal of waste, but it is also increasing awareness among the city residents.
The Municipal Commissioner said that Lucknow Municipal Corporation is constantly striving to provide better waste management services to the citizens. This center with a capacity of 10 metric tons per day is an important step in this direction. And our goal is to further increase this capacity in the future so that all areas of the city can get the benefit of this facility.
All the senior officers of Lucknow Swachhta Abhiyan and Lucknow Municipal Corporation took a close look at the operation of MRF Center and shared their experiences with the employees of Lucknow Swachhta Abhiyan. Also, various plans were discussed to increase the capacity of this center in future and make it more efficient. On this occasion, other senior officers and employees of Lucknow Municipal Corporation and Lucknow Swachhta Abhiyan were also present.
