Lucknow: Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Minister in charge of Lucknow District, Suresh Kumar Khanna, directed the officials of the Municipal Corporation that wherever there is encroachment on the drainage system in the Lucknow Municipal Corporation area, it should be removed immediately with minimum damage and force.
Public representatives should also cooperate in this work and motivate people to make the drainage system smooth. He has also requested the general public to break the ramps of their houses affecting the drainage system and get them built in such a way that the drains are not affected. He said that if the ramps affecting the drainage of drains are broken by the administration, the expenditure incurred on it will also be borne by the concerned person.
The Minister in charge was reviewing the development works of Lucknow District here today in Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Auditorium Collectorate. He said that public welfare schemes should be widely publicized so that the general public can get maximum benefit from the schemes. The cooperation of public representatives should also be taken in this work.
The Minister-in-charge directed the officials that Lucknow, being the capital of the state, is a model district for the people. He said that the monuments, tourist places and tourist places under construction in Lucknow district should be maintained in a better way and made attractive. So that the tourists coming here are attracted and the image of Lucknow is created as a model capital. He said that under the Tubewell Bill Waiver Scheme, all the beneficiaries must get their registration done by August 31, 2024, so that they can get the benefit of the bill waiver scheme. In case of not being able to register by August 31, the farmers will have to pay their bills themselves. He requested all the public representatives to make the farmers aware of this in their respective areas. He instructed the officials to ensure the supply of adequate quantity of fertilizer to the farmers as per the demand in the district. There should be no complaint of shortage of fertilizer anywhere.
Khanna instructed the officials to catch the stray cattle and keep them in cow shelters. Such cattle rearers who abandon the animals after milking them should be identified and action should be taken against them. He said that there are great possibilities in fish production in the district.
Maximum efforts should be made in this and interested people should be motivated by giving them the benefits of government schemes for fish production. For the first time in the district, an annual credit plan has been prepared at the Gram Panchayat level. Which was released by the Minister. According to the annual credit plan, a target of loan distribution of 50 crores has been set through various schemes at every Gram Panchayat level in the district.
He directed that information centers should be made in banks, through which people should be informed about the loans and other benefits available through banks in various schemes. The rate of loan rejection in banks should be minimized. He directed the officials of the electricity department to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity to the people. The capacity of transformers should also be increased as per the need.
Khanna requested the public representatives to spread the information about various public welfare and beneficial schemes running in the district to the general public as much as possible. Officers should coordinate with public representatives and share information about various schemes run by their respective departments. Public representatives should also make personal efforts to provide maximum benefits of the schemes to the interested and eligible beneficiaries in their areas.
Under Agristack (Digital Agriculture Public Infrastructure), accurate crop-wise information will be obtained in the district through digital crop survey, which will enable a real overview of the income from agricultural products in the state’s economy. Farmers will be freed from repeated verification to avail the benefits of various government schemes.
With this data, quick verification will be easily done in various schemes including Kisan Credit Card, Crop Insurance Scheme. In the survey, accurate information about agricultural products will be available in time for agriculture-based industries. On the basis of which there will be ease in setting up and running the industry. Farmers will soon get an opportunity to connect with institutional marketing without middlemen.
Coordination with agricultural input suppliers should be arranged for the availability of agricultural inputs required for crops sown in a particular area. In Rabi 2023-24, e-khasra investigation of 188162 Gatos was done in 534 geo-referenced villages. Presently, e-khasra investigation in Kharif 2024-25 will start in the last week of this month.
Focus on rural women farmers through Kisan Producer Organization in the district, organizing women in FPO, contribute significantly to the system of mechanization and value addition. Which ultimately increases agricultural income. Access to and control over resources is important to promote strong value chains. 51 FPOs are working in this district. To promote digital marketing, FPOs in Lucknow district have been linked with online platforms, under which Nirala Herbal FPO sold 4636 quintals of flour worth Rs 1.35 crore through Flipkart. The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan) scheme was implemented by the Government of India to increase the income of farmers under the budget presented in February 2019. All farmer families will be given Rs 6,000 per year.
The assistance is being provided directly to the bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) in three installments every year. In the PM Kisan Yojana, under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana in Lucknow district, an amount of Rs 631.39 crore has been transferred to the accounts of farmers from the inception of the scheme till June 2024. At present, a total of 1,85,949 farmers are receiving installments of PM Kisan.
Last year, the fish production of entire Uttar Pradesh was 1159865 tonnes, which contributed Rs 1.86 billion in the total average fish market price of Rs 161 / kg, compared to which the annual fish production of Lucknow district was 7452.50 tonnes which is 0.64 percent. In the year 2024-25, 483900 tonnes of production was done in entire Uttar Pradesh, compared to which Lucknow district has so far produced 3740 tonnes of fish, the value of which is Rs 60.21 crore at an average rate of Rs 161/-.
