Students from 30 countries bring alive a mini-world

Lucknow: Student teams from 30 countries, who are in Lucknow on an invitation by City Montessori School, mesmerized the audience with enchanting folk dances of their respective countries during the ‘Cultural Evening’ held at the CMS Kanpur Road auditorium today. This vibrant cultural evening was held to honour the distinguished mathematics experts and student participants of the 5-day India International Mathematics Competition (India IMC-2024), organised by CMS Gomti Nagar Campus I from 27th to 31st July in which over 1000 students and mathematics experts from 30 countries are participating.  During the Cultural Evening, student teams from different countries of the world not only showcased their artistic talents but also offered a glimpse into their respective countries’ cultures and traditions. Their performances, highlighted by colourful costumes, were met with enthusiastic applause and admiration from the audience.

In her address delivered on this occasion, CMS Manager, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon emphasized that events like these are crucial in shaping future generations into cultured and responsible citizens. Welcoming the students and their team leaders from various countries, Abha Anant, Convener of InIMC-2024, and Principal of CMS Gomti Nagar Campus I, said that the flame of unity, peace and harmony that has spread through this wonderful program of dance and music, will illuminate the whole world.

CMS Public Relations Officer,  Rishi Khanna informed that in this vibrant cultural evening, student participants from countries including Bolivia, Botswana, Bulgaria, Bangladesh, Canada, China, Cyprus, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Mexico, Mongolia, Nepal, Peru, Philippines, Romania, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Thailand, Tunisia, Uganda, Uzbekistan, USA, Vietnam and India displayed their artistic and cultural talents.  Khanna said that the prize distribution and closing ceremony of InIMC-2024 will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, 30 July at 2.30 pm in CMS Kanpur Road Auditorium. Medals and certificates will be awarded to the top-performing students from India and abroad on this occasion.
