14 Lok Sabha seats go to polls in sixth phase

Lucknow: Voting will be held on 14 Lok Sabha seats of Uttar Pradesh. The 14 seats in the sixth phase include Sultanpur, Pratapgarh, Phulpur, Allahabad, Ambedkarnagar, Shravasti, Dumariaganj, Basti, Sant Kabirnagar, Lalganj (SU), Azamgarh, Jaunpur, Machhilshahr (SU) and Bhadohi. A total of 162 candidates are in the fray for 14 seats in the sixth phase. In which there are 146 male and 16 female candidates. At the same time, voting will also be held on Saturday for the vacant seat of Gansadi Assembly. There are more than 2.7 crore voters on 14 seats in the sixth phase. Tough competition is being seen on many seats.

Out of 14 seats in this phase, 12 seats are reserved for General Category and 2 seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste. If we look at the 2019 election results, in this phase BJP won 9 seats, BSP won 4 and SP won 1 seat. However, SP had to lose the Azamgarh seat in the by-election.

In the sixth phase, the main candidates are senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Maneka Gandhi from Sultanpur, BJP’s Dinesh Lal Yadav ‘Nirahua’ from Azamgarh and SP’s Dharmendra Yadav, BJP’s Saket Mishra from Shravasti, Dumariaganj, BJP’s Jagdambika Pal from Allahabad. Are included. BJP’s Neeraj Tripathi and Congress’s Ujjwal Raman Singh are in the fray from Jaunpur and Kripashankar Singh is in the fray from Jaunpur on BJP ticket.

BJP has again fielded candidates on 08 seats. New faces have been fielded on 6 seats Bhadohi, Shravasti, Ambedkar Nagar, Allahabad, Phulpur and Jaunpur. On May 20, 57.98 percent voting took place in the fifth phase in the state. There is a possibility of a triangular contest with NDA, India Bloc and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) fielding their candidates. BJP would like to score a hat-trick of victories in this phase by making a clean sweep of 09 seats.

Important information related to the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections

Among the seats for which elections are to be held in this phase, except Ambedkar Nagar, Lalganj (Uttar Pradesh), Jaunpur, Shravasti and Azamgarh, the rest were won by BJP in 2019. However, SP had to lose Azamgarh seat to BJP in the by-election.

Sultanpur

Maneka Sanjay Gandhi from BJP, Rambhual Nishad from SP and Udraj Verma from BSP are candidates for Sultanpur seat. BJP would like to score a hat-trick on this seat.

Pratapgarh

In Pratapgarh, BJP has fielded Sangam Lal Gupta for the second time. Whereas, BSP has fielded Prathamesh Mishra ‘Senani’ and SP has fielded Shivpal Singh Patel.

Phulpur

BJP has fielded Praveen Patel from Phulpur by canceling the ticket of sitting MP Keshari Devi. He is contesting against SP’s Amarnath Singh Maurya and BSP’s Jagannath Pal.

Allahabad

From Allahabad parliamentary seat, BJP has fielded Neeraj Tripathi, senior party leader and son of former governor Kesharinath Tripathi. The responsibility of scoring a hat-trick of victory is on the shoulders of Neeraj. He is contesting from Ujjwal Raman Singh of Congress. Whereas BSP has fielded Ramesh Kumar Patel.

Ambedkar

BJP has placed its bet on new face Ritesh Pandey on Ambedkar Nagar seat. Current MP Ritesh had won the last election on BSP ticket. Now he has joined BJP. BSP has given ticket to Qamar Hayat and SP has given ticket to former minister Lalji Verma.

Shravasti

On Shravasti seat, BJP has placed its bet on new face MLC Saket Mishra. BSP has fielded Moinuddin Ahmed Khan alias Haji Daddan Khan and SP has fielded sitting MP Ram Shiromani Verma. Ram Shiromani had won the last election on BSP ticket.

Dumariyaganj

BJP has fielded sitting MP from Dumariyaganj, Jagdambika Pal. Muhammad Nadeem from BSP and Bhishma Shankar alias Kushal Tiwari from SP are in the fray. The contest here is between BJP and SP. BJP would like to score a hat-trick of victory on this seat.

Basti

BJP has fielded sitting MP from Basti, Harish Dwivedi for the third time. Ram Prasad Choudhary from SP and Lavkush Patel from BSP are in the fray. Harish Dwivedi has won the last two elections.

Sant Kabir Nagar

In Sant Kabir Nagar, BJP has fielded sitting MP Praveen Kumar Nishad. Nadeem Ashraf from BSP and Laxmikant Pappu from SP are contesting in Nishad field. BJP would like to score a hat-trick of victory on this seat.

Lalganj (Su.)

BJP’s Neelam Sonkar is in the fray from Lalganj (SU) Lok Sabha seat. To challenge them, Indu Chaudhary from BSP and Inspector Prasad Saroj from SP have entered the election battle.

Azamgarh

BJP has fielded sitting Bhojpuri star Dinesh Lal Yadav “Nirahua” from Azamgarh seat. His competition is against BSP’s famous Sabiha Ansari and SP’s Dharmendra Yadav. There is a direct contest between BJP and SP on this seat.

Jaunpur

Kripashankar Singh from BJP, former minister Babu Singh Kushwaha from SP and current MP Shyam Singh Yadav from BSP are in the fray from Jaunpur Lok Sabha seat. The contest here is triangular.

Machlishahr (U.S.)

BJP is fielding sitting MP Bholanath (B.P. Saroj) from Machhilishahr (SU) seat. Supreme Court lawyer Priya Saroj from SP and Kripa Shankar Saroj from BSP are contesting. BJP would like to score a hat-trick of victory on this seat.

Bhadohi

BJP has fielded new face Dr. Vinod Kumar Bind from Bhadohi seat. Harishankar from BSP and Laliteshpati Tripathi from All India Trinamool Congress are in the fray. In India Block, SP has given this seat to Trinamool Congress.
