Lucknow/Gorakhpur: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed the flood situation in 11 districts of the state due to rain and water released from the mountains due to bad weather for the last three days. He directed the officials of all 11 districts namely Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Lakhimpur Kheri, Ballia, Farrukhabad, Gonda, Kanpur Nagar, GB Nagar, Sitapur, Hardoi and Shahjahanpur to conduct relief work with full readiness.
He also instructed the officials to visit the area and monitor and speed up the relief work. He said that all possible assistance should be provided to the affected people. On the instructions of CM Yogi, several teams of SDRF, NDRF and PAC have been deployed in all the affected districts.
CM Yogi has asked the District Magistrates to assess the damage to the crops and provide a report to the government so that further action can be taken to provide compensation amount to the affected farmers as per rules. Apart from this, CM Yogi directed to provide immediate financial assistance to the flood-affected people whose houses have been damaged or animals have been lost.
10 people rescued and shifted to a safe place in Kushinagar
Relief Commissioner Bhanu Chandra Goswami said that on the instructions of CM Yogi, relief work is being done on a war footing in 11 flood-affected districts of the state. He said that at present 5 villages of 1 tehsil are affected due to the Gandak river in Kushinagar. In such a situation, 8 thousand people are affected due to waterlogging. 16 flood shelters have been set up here.
At the same time, the number of prepositioned boats is 42, while 1 team each of NDRF and PAC has been deployed for rescue. Apart from this, 10 people trapped in flood water in Shivpur village were rescued by NDRF. Similarly, 1 village of 1 tehsil is affected due to the Gandak river in Maharajganj. 45 people are affected here. 1 flood shelter has been set up here. At present, 45 people are living in the flood shelter.
Relief work is being carried out through one boat while the number of prepositioned boats is 55. 2095 lunch packets were distributed here on Sunday. One team each of NDRF and PAC has been deployed for rescue work. At the same time, 45 people have been shifted to the flood shelter due to rising water level. 11 villages of 4 tehsils of Lakhimpur Kheri are affected by floods, out of which 7 villages are being eroded. 19,500 people are affected by this. 14 flood shelters have been established here. 26 boats have been deployed here for relief work. 550 food items were distributed here on Sunday. At the same time, one team each of NDRF and PAC has been deployed for rescue.
200 food items and 1,200 lunch packets distributed in Ballia
The Relief Commissioner said that 18 villages of 3 tehsils are affected in Ballia while 5 villages are being eroded. At the same time, only agriculture of 9 villages is affected. Currently 8300 people are affected due to waterlogging. 71 flood shelters have been established here. Out of these, 3 are operational. Currently 700 people are living in flood shelters. 15 boats have been deployed here for relief work while the number of prepositioned boats is 202. 200 food items and 1,200 lunch packets were distributed here.
Currently 1 team each of NDRF and SDRF is deployed. 1 village of 1 tehsil is affected in Farrukhabad. Currently 350 people are affected due to waterlogging. 24 flood shelters have been established here. At the same time, 2 boats have been engaged for relief work while the number of prepositioned boats is 15. At present, 1 team of PAC is deployed in the district.
In Gonda, 3 villages of 1 tehsil of Ghaghra river are affected. At present, 452 people are affected due to water logging. 31 flood shelters have been established here. At the same time, 3 boats have been engaged for relief work while the number of prepositioned boats is 92. 260 lunch packets were distributed here on Sunday. At present, one team each of SDRF and PAC is deployed. Apart from this, relief work is going on on war footing in flood affected Kanpur Nagar, GB Nagar, Sitapur, Hardoi and Shahjahanpur.
