Lucknow: On the initiative of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission has taken a big decision keeping in mind the demands of the competitive exam candidates protesting in Prayagraj. This decision has brought relief to lakhs of students appearing for competitive examinations.

CM Yogi’s initiative in the interest of students

For the last few days, there was a situation of dissatisfaction among the students regarding PCS and other selection examinations. The students demanded that the PCS preliminary examination should be conducted in a single day instead of conducting it in multiple shifts. Taking cognizance of these demands of the students, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed the Commission to take necessary decisions by establishing dialogue with the students. The Commission communicated with the students on the instructions of the Chief Minister and considering their demands, it was decided that the PCS Preliminary Examination 2024 will be conducted on a single day as before.

Formation of committee for RO/ARO exam

On the initiative of the Chief Minister, UPPSC has postponed the Review Officer (RO) and Assistant Review Officer (ARO) Examination-2023 and has constituted a committee to ensure its transparency and fairness. This committee will study all aspects in depth and submit its detailed report soon, so that the purity and credibility of these examinations can be ensured.

Special focus on transparency of selection examinations

The Secretary of the Commission said that in view of the incidents of paper leak in many parts of the country in recent months, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to ensure the purity and transparency of the selection examinations. For this reason, the Commission had announced to conduct the proposed PCS and RO/ARO examinations in multiple shifts in December. However, after the demand of the students and the intervention of the Chief Minister, now the PCS preliminary examination will be conducted on the same day.

Students will get benefit

This decision will provide great relief to lakhs of students who are preparing for this exam. By conducting the examination on a single day, the students will get confidence of transparency and fairness in the examination process. Also, the report of the committee constituted by the commission will further strengthen the integrity of the examinations to be held in future. There is a wave of happiness among the students after this decision and they are appreciating this quick decision of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
