Lucknow: In celebration of eight years of the state government’s policy of ‘Service, Security, and Good Governance,’ a three-day fair will be organized across all municipal bodies in Uttar Pradesh from March 25 to March 27, 2025. The objective is to raise awareness about the key achievements and schemes of the central government (over the past ten years) and the state government (over the past eight years). Principal Secretary for Urban Development, Shri Amrit Abhijat, announced the initiative during a meeting at the Directorate of Urban Bodies, instructing municipal commissioners and executive officers to ensure its successful execution.
Key Highlights of the Fair:
- Public awareness campaigns about government schemes and projects.
- Camps to provide benefits of various welfare schemes to citizens.
- Exhibitions showcasing government schemes, projects, and initiatives.
- Formation of an advisory committee under the leadership of mayors or municipal chairpersons, including officials, social organizations, political representatives, and government department officials.
Achievements Over the Past Eight Years
The Principal Secretary emphasized that the state has achieved remarkable progress across various sectors, with several public welfare schemes and projects currently underway. The Urban Development Department has been implementing significant central and state-sponsored welfare initiatives, including:

Grand Inauguration and Key Activities
The fair will be inaugurated by the respective district’s minister-in-charge, along with local public representatives. In other municipal bodies, the event will be inaugurated by mayors, municipal chairpersons, and ward councilors.
Key highlights of the fair include:
- Screening of a special short film celebrating eight years of government achievements.
- Screening of a documentary on the successful organization of Maha Kumbh Prayagraj-2025.
- Release of booklets and photographs of major government projects.
- Exhibition of plaques of all projects inaugurated or laid down in the last ten years.
- Media promotion through electronic, print, and social media.
Thematic Conferences and Cultural Programs
Each day of the fair will feature thematic conferences and interactive sessions on topics such as:
- Women’s Empowerment
- Infrastructure Development
- Youth and Employment
- Handicrafts and One District One Product (ODOP)
- Safe Entrepreneurship and Prosperous Trade
- Antyodaya to Sarvodaya (Inclusive Growth)
Prominent experts will be invited to speak on these topics, and individuals who have made remarkable contributions in these areas will be honored. Cultural programs featuring local artists will be organized between sessions. Additionally, district fairs will include food courts highlighting traditional local delicacies.
Special Focus on Women Empowerment and Business Welfare
As part of Mission Shakti, conferences on women’s safety, empowerment, self-defense, and anti-Romeo squads will be held at the municipal level. Under Mission Vyapari Kalyan, fairs will focus on small-scale traders and entrepreneurs, featuring schemes such as:
- Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana
- Startup India Scheme
- One District One Product Scheme
- Mukhyamantri Swarozgar Yojana
- Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana
Beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana will be invited, including street vendors and hawkers, to ensure maximum participation from all sections of society.
Participation of Key Officials and Representatives
If the district’s minister-in-charge is unavailable, the event will be chaired by the heads of various government boards, members of parliament (MPs), members of the legislative assembly (MLAs), and municipal leaders. The Urban Development Department will ensure participation from public representatives and citizens alike.
A special screening of government documentaries will be arranged, and foundation stones of new projects will be laid in the presence of local representatives. The initiative aims to highlight the state’s development journey and ensure the effective implementation of welfare schemes at the grassroots level.
