Lucknow: The sixth meeting of the Crop Weather Watch Group for the year 2024-25 was concluded under the chairmanship of Dr. Sanjay Singh, Director General, Uttar Pradesh Agricultural Research Council. The progress of monsoon and the weather forecast for the coming week were discussed in the meeting. Regarding the monsoon progress, it was told that the northern boundary of the southwest monsoon has reached West Bengal from the Arabian Sea via Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh. In the next few days, conditions are favorable for the progress of monsoon in Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, coastal Andhra Pradesh and some more parts of North West Bay of Bengal. According to the weather forecast received from the India Meteorological Department, the weather is likely to remain mainly dry in most of the agro-climatic zones of the state. There is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall in some parts of the state from June 16, while the weather will remain dry in Bundelkhand and South Western semi-arid plains.
