Lucknow: To stop the arbitrariness of roadways drivers, corporation officials have made the rules strict. Buses leaving from Mathura depot will now have to run 400 km, if the driver is negligent in this, he will be punished. 154 buses are being operated from the depot on different routes every day.
Corporation officials said that the depot’s bus will now have to run at least 400 km on big routes and 270 km on small routes. Roadways Corporation has taken this decision to increase the income and improve the system. That is, if the operation is less than this, the concerned driver can be punished. At the same time, the average will also have to be taken care of. Due to these changes, the problems of roadways drivers have increased. Now they will have to handle the steering for more time.
Officials said that the target is Rs 22.50 lakh per day. At present, the depot is earning only Rs 20 lakh, due to which the target is not being met. In such a situation, a decision has been taken to improve it. All buses travel a distance of 50 thousand. More than 20 thousand passengers travel in it. ARM Madan Mohan Sharma said that the target of buses of the depot is not being achieved. Therefore, buses will have to be run for 400 km on big routes and 270 km on small ones.
Earlier buses used to run up to 300 km
According to the information received from the roadways, earlier the roadways buses used to run only 230 to 310 km on the prescribed routes. Sometimes they used to run even less than this, but now to increase the facilities, the drivers have been asked to meet the target. Instructions were given to run every bus at least 400 km per day. Officials said that to recover from the loss, they have started tightening the noose on the drivers and conductors. If a passenger is found without a ticket in the bus, the conductor will be punished. If a ticket is not found, the conductor will be suspended.
