National PG College moots the relevance of Union Budget

Lucknow: The Department of Economics at National PG College organized a lecture on Union Budget 2024-25 under the guidance of Principal Prof. Devendra Kumar Singh. This event was implemented in collaboration with the National Service Scheme of the college and Lucknow Management Association.

Dr. Nagendra Kumar Maurya, Assistant Professor, Department of Applied Economics, Lucknow University, Dr. Urvashi Sirohi, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, Lucknow University, C.A. Jatin Agarwal, CEO Saurabh Mishra were present as the keynote speakers in this program.

The program was inaugurated by the Principal and the main aspects of the Union Budget were discussed in detail in this program. The main points of discussion were expansion of industrial sector, internship program, skill development, lack of demand in the economy, agricultural development, employment related schemes and budget allocation on health sector.

Chief Guest Dr. Nagendra said that the investments and reforms made in the budget are expected to give impetus to the economy. He especially appreciated the investments made on infrastructure development. He said that the provisions made in the budget for the agriculture sector will help in increasing the income of farmers. The reforms made in the budget for the industry will boost investment and create employment opportunities.

He said that the provisions made in the budget for health, education and other social sectors will improve the living standards of the poor and the deprived. He also pointed out some challenges, such as fiscal deficit and rising inflation. He said that the government will have to take concrete steps to deal with these challenges.

Principal Prof. Devendra Kumar Singh expressed his views on various aspects of the budget. He described the budget as a balanced budget and said that it is a positive step towards accelerating economic development and achieving the goals of social welfare. On this occasion, teachers from all departments of the college were present.
