Mushroom Cultivation Training Camp organized in Rohilkhand University

Bareilly: The third Mushroom Cultivation Training Camp was organized in the Department of Botany under the patronage of Honorable Vice Chancellor Professor KP Singh of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University. Farmers, women, students, and common citizens participated in the camp. The training camp was inaugurated by the hands of Professor BP Singh. Coordinator and trainer of the training camp, Dr. Vijay Kumar Sinhaal said that farmers and housewives participated enthusiastically in the camp.

Training was given in the camp for cultivation of oyster and button mushrooms. Dr. Sinhaal said that in addition to learning mushroom cultivation in the training, the trainees were told in detail about the market of mushrooms and a market was also made available to buy the mushrooms grown by them. With a view to self-employment, an exporter company named Fovtis was also invited. The company officials assured the trainees that the oyster mushrooms grown by them would be purchased at reasonable prices.

Under the central government’s self-employment approach, the Department of Plant Sciences of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University has formed an experiential learning group of students through which the trained students will produce mushrooms and increase their income. Professor Alok Srivastava, Head of the Department of Plant Sciences, told all the people involved in the training about the commercial importance of mushroom cultivation.

Professor Sanjay Garg blessed the students. Dr. Pankaj Kumar Arora gave detailed information to the students about the nutritional elements of mushrooms. Professor Upendra Kumar, Dr. Lalit Kumar Pandey, Saurabh Kumar, Sangeeta Kumari, Naveen Kumar, Rajiv Kumar, etc. had a special contribution in making the training camp successful. The third mushroom cultivation training camp was organized in the Department of Plant Sciences. Farmers, women, students, and common citizens participated in the camp.
