Maya’s caste calculus flops, Chandrashekhar the new star

Chandrashekhar

Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has suffered a crushing defeat in the Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh. A new Dalit leader has emerged in this election. BSP has failed to win even a single seat in Uttar Pradesh. At the same time, Chandrashekhar of Azad Samaj Party (Kanshiram) has won the Nagina seat without the support of any political party or leader. Chandrashekhar has won the Nagina (reserved) seat by a margin of more than one and a half lakh votes. This victory is a sign of a clear change in Dalit votes. Whereas Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Surendra Pal Singh got only 13272 votes on this seat.

Chandrashekhar fought the battle alone

Chandrashekhar fought this battle alone. He was fully confident of his victory. Two days ago he had said, “All parties are standing against me. But the public is with me. I am fully confident of their support.” Chandrashekhar had said, “I do not need any star campaigner. My stars are my voters. They know that I will always be there for them. In the end this is what matters.” A Bhim Army supporter said, “Chandrashekhar always visited every Dalit house where a member was targeted. Be it Hathras, Kanpur Dehat, Lakhimpur or any other place.”

Run schools for Dalit children in many cities of UP

He further said that his team runs schools for Dalit children in many cities of western UP. They also provide legal help to the victim families. Former CM Mayawati never bothered to reach out to the victim families. People of our community, especially the youth, are gradually getting attracted to Bhim Army, also known as Azad Samaj Party. Happy with the victory of its leader Chandrashekhar in Nagina, Bhim Army is now planning to form its own organization in the entire state.
