Lucknow: The bugle for Lok Sabha elections 2024 has been sounded. On one hand, all the political parties are busy in their preparations regarding this. On the other hand, the Transport Department has also completed its arrangements.
Lok Sabha elections are to be held in seven phases in UP. Voting for the first phase of elections will be held on April 19. At the same time, more than 7 thousand buses of Transport Corporation are being prepared by the UP Transport Department. Through this, the security forces deployed during voting will be transported to every polling booth in the state. All these buses will be made available in seven phases to transport paramilitary forces and police personnel for duty.
Voting is to be held on 80 seats in UP in 7 phases.
Actually, there are 80 Lok Sabha seats in UP, voting on these seats is to be held in seven phases. In such a situation, the Election Commission has deployed a large number of security forces to strengthen the security arrangements at each polling station in the state. The Inspector General of Police (Law and Order) had requested the Transport Corporation to provide buses to transport the deployed security forces to the polling stations. In this sequence, more than 7 thousand buses of the Transport Corporation are being prepared to take the security forces to each polling station of the state.
Demand for buses for 7 phases
In this regard, it was informed by the Transport Department that a letter has been sent to the Managing Director of the Transport Corporation on behalf of UP Police IG LO LR Kumar. Through this letter, the Police Department has requested the Transport Corporation to provide a total of 7051 buses to transport the security forces to the voting sites in all the 7 phases of the Lok Sabha elections. On this demand of UP Police, the Transport Corporation has started arranging buses to transport paramilitary forces and police personnel on duty in 7 phases.
