Governor unveils a garden dedicated to all the mothers

Lucknow: Inspired by Governor  Anandiben Patel, a plantation program was organized  in the Raj Bhavan under the campaign “Ek Vriksha Maa Ke Naam” in which Padma Shri, Malini Awasthi, school children and all the officers and employees of the Raj Bhavan planted saplings in the name of mother.

In the plantation program, while the Governor planted Sita Ashok and Parijat saplings, other officers planted Molshree, Parijat, Chitvan, Gandharaj, Shwet Champa, Swarna Champa, Ashok Pendula etc. The Governor also inaugurated this garden by naming it Maa Garden.

It is known that on the occasion of Yoga Day, the Governor had appealed to all the people of the state to plant a sapling in the name of mother and take care of it. In this sequence, the Governor inaugurated the Maa Garden in the Raj Bhavan.

Addressing the program, the Governor said that when the name of the mother is associated with the plant, then the mother’s love, upbringing, everything is remembered. Trees also like music, music under the tree leads to rapid growth of the tree. She said that crores of people are planting trees across the country with the inspiration of the  Prime Minister. The Governor said that plants also have to be nurtured, researchers have shown that plants also respond.

She said that when we are determined and dedicated towards a task, then the task is accomplished. She said that today our rivers are drying up, mountains are falling, in such a situation when the whole world is facing a crisis, plantation is necessary. We should do the work of water conservation, reviving rivers.

On this occasion, Padma Shri,  Malini Awasthi said that the culture of India teaches us to live with nature. She said that trees and plants have been performing their duty for centuries, they provide us fruits, shade and oxygen and do not have any expectations from us in return. Describing the month of Ashadha as an ideal month for tree plantation, she said that an environment should be created where inclusive tendencies develop. Describing trees and plants as a part of life, she said that our folk songs and folk tales are connected to nature.

On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary to Governor Dr. Sudhir Mahadev Bobde, calling the program a matter of joy, said that the plants dedicated to the mother should be nurtured like a mother till they mature. He said that by planting trees around the house, dedicate them in the memory of the mother. On this occasion, nature related songs were presented by the children of Raj Bhavan and Bhatkhande Sanskrit University and all the officers and employees of Raj Bhavan planted trees.
