Cyber Crime cracked in nick of time

Lucknow: In yet another effort to nip cyber crime in the bud, Cyber Crime Cell returned an amount of Rs 1,00,586/- which was defrauded by a fraudster by making the victim download AnyDesk app in the name of KYC from the IndusInd Bank credit card.

The mission to crack the crime was led by a team of fierce officers which included Commissioner of Police, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime), Deputy Commissioner of Police among others in the Lucknow Police Commissionerate. The overall command of the operation was in the hands of Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) and under the supervision of Assistant Police Commissioner Cyber Crime and Inspector Incharge Cyber Crime Cell.

The total amount that was extracted through fraud has been refunded. Reportedly falling prey to the crime was Indramani, resident of Chinhat, Lucknow. Inspector-in-charge Satish Sahu and Akhilesh Patel took immediate action on the application and contacted the concerned banks/companies and froze the suspicious accounts. The complainant is very happy to get his money back and has expressed his gratitude to the Police Commissionerate, Lucknow.
