Lucknow: Rakesh Sachan, Minister of MSME, Silk Industry, Khadi and Village Industries, Handloom and Textile Industry of Uttar Pradesh directed the departmental officials that all the land related work should be completed as soon as possible for the establishment of Textiles Park between Lucknow-Hardoi district under PM Mitra Yojana, the foundation stone of this park is to be laid soon.
PM Mitra Textiles Park will give a huge boost to the textile industry in the state. He said that as per the wish of the Honorable Chief Minister, necessary steps should be taken quickly towards making Uttar Pradesh a hub of textile industry. To make the state a hub of textile industry, the possibilities of setting up PM Mitra Park in Gorakhpur and Varanasi should also be considered in future. There are many possibilities of textile industry in Uttar Pradesh. This will also create a large number of jobs in the state.
Uttar Pradesh MSME, Silk Industry, Khadi and Village Industries, Handloom and Textiles Minister Rakesh Sachan gave this direction on the occasion of reviewing the departmental works of Khadi and Village Industries, Handloom and Textiles Department through video conferencing in Khadi Bhawan Auditorium.
On this occasion, he also reviewed the budget allocated for departmental schemes for the financial year 2024-25. He directed that by setting targets, all the schemes run by the department should be implemented properly at the ground level. Ensure that the benefits of the schemes are made available to the real beneficiaries, there should not be any kind of negligence.
Cabinet Minister of Uttar Pradesh Rakesh Sachan directed the departmental officers to organize departmental exhibitions to be held in the divisions / districts of the state at major places of the city, as well as compulsorily invite the public representatives of the district in the inauguration of the exhibition and cultural programs. Wide publicity of the exhibition should also be done so that the products of entrepreneurs coming from far flung areas can be sold well.
Rakesh Sachan directed the officials of the Textile Industry Department to encourage and benefit people under the Chief Minister Weavers Solar Energy Scheme. The entrepreneurs who have started their production under the Textile Policy 2022 should be provided the benefits of atomic facilities by applying on the departmental portal. All the proposals under Jhalkari Bai Kori Handloom and Powerloom Development Scheme and Chief Minister Handloom and Powerloom Industry Development Scheme should be sent to the Directorate as soon as possible and the demand for the second installment amount should also be made as soon as possible.
He directed the officials of Khadi and Village Industries to promote Khadi products widely. The units / beneficiaries to be established through the schemes run by the department should be provided loan facilities by coordinating with the banks so that more and more people in the state can be linked to self-employment. More efforts need to be made towards increasing the production of Khadi products. He also took suggestions from the company officials in this regard.
While reviewing the schemes of UP Matikala Board, Rakesh Sachan directed that at least one Common Facility Centre must be established in each district so that the traditional artisans of Matikala can get maximum benefit of the scheme. Apart from distribution of electric-operated chalks, a detailed plan should be prepared and presented for making other modern automatic machines available to the traditional artisans. It is worth mentioning that this year a target has been set to distribute 2325 electric-operated chalks as well as 375 pugmill machines for which formal proceedings have been started.
Sachan directed the Principal Secretary to write a letter to the District Magistrate and inform the local administration in this regard that the traditional artisans of Matikala should not face any difficulty in extracting and carrying the soil so that they can produce as much of their product as possible. The senior officials were also directed to issue instructions to all the District Village Industries Officers to identify and list the artisans working with clay in rural/urban areas wherever they are living in groups and maximum efforts should be made to benefit all of them under the scheme.
On this occasion, the departmental Principal Secretary Alok Kumar, Industries Commissioner and Director Rajesh Kumar, CEO Khadi and Village Industries Board Ujjwal Kumar along with the concerned departmental officers were present.
