AKTU Launches ‘Kalam Pragati Initiative’ to Skill Students

Lucknow: Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) is set to launch the ‘Kalam Pragati Initiative’ on February 28 to equip engineering students with industry-relevant skills. Under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. J.P. Pandey, the initiative will begin with a pilot phase, offering two specialized courses: Innovation & Design Thinking and Robotics. The program, in collaboration with Era Foundation, aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical industry applications.

The program is open to B.Tech students from CSE, IT, and related streams, starting from the second year. Interested students registered by February 22, with 120 students per batch selected through an evaluation process. The courses will be conducted at AKTU’s Centre for Advanced Studies, every Friday and Saturday, with 30-hour training sessions led by industry experts.

The Innovation & Design Thinking course will train students in prototyping, CAD, laser printing, and 3D modeling, while the Robotics course will cover motor control, Python programming, and robotic automation. This initiative promises hands-on industry exposure, preparing students for emerging technological careers.
