Lucknow: The Lucknow Book Fair, which commenced on March 1 at Ravindralay, Charbagh, is approaching its conclusion. As the fair nears its end, it has witnessed a massive turnout of school and college students, along with avid book lovers. The fair is set to conclude on Sunday.

Indian art has always placed significant emphasis on both external beauty and internal aesthetics. Festivals and celebrations hold a special place in the country’s traditions, alongside the rich legacy of sculpture, painting, architecture, dance, and music. This heritage extends to the construction of temples and palaces, reflecting the deep-rooted artistic traditions of India. Various stalls at the book fair offer books analyzing and discussing the symbolism and diversity of Indian art.

The book fair offers free entry and a minimum 10% discount on every book. The Indian Art Publications stall showcases books on Indian painting traditions, Indian aesthetics, Rajasthani miniatures, Western Indian archaeology and sculpture, Harappan art, ancient Indian inscriptions, and Basohli paintings. Similarly, the Shubhi Publications stall features titles such as Indian Theatre Traditions, Vanishing Temple Art, The Dance of Kali, Art Without Frontiers, Havelis, Jaisalmer Architecture, along with books on classical dance forms like Kathak, Odissi, and Bharatanatyam. Among the book launches today, Dr. Premswaroop Srivastava’s English book Stairs to Heaven was unveiled by Shivpal Sanwaria and Councilor Gauri Sanwaria, in the presence of Madhuri Srivastava and Vishal. The author elaborated on the book’s central theme, emphasizing that life’s true purpose is not merely to seek joy and celebration but to serve others in times of suffering and ultimately break free from the cycle of life and death.

Earlier in the day, Prithvi Innovation conducted an environmental awareness program. The event also saw the launch of Kamlesh Tripathi’s poetry collection Rhythm in Poems and Pranita Lele’s book Tiny Twisted Yarns and Verse. Prominent literary figures such as Jyotsna Kaur Habibullah, Farida Jalees, Ranu Uniyal, Anand Vardhan Singh, Niharika Singh, Namita Rai, and Poonam Jaggi shared their thoughts during the session.

In the evening, a Ghazal recital session was organized by Sahityakar Sansad and Naman Publications, coordinated and hosted by Naveen Shukla. Presided over by Ramprakash Bekhud, the event featured performances by Shobha Dixit Bhavana, Muneer Nazar, Abhishek Sahaj, Fida Hussain, Shweta Srivastava, Sanjay Malhotra Hamnawa, Arvind Jha, and Harshit. Dr. Suresh and Munendra honored the poets for their literary contributions. Another poetry session and honor ceremony were also conducted by Revant.

Additionally, the fair features an organ donation awareness initiative by PGI’s State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization at stall number 54, where interested individuals can pledge for organ donation. A health camp is also scheduled for tomorrow at the fairgrounds.

With such a diverse range of literary and cultural activities, the Lucknow Book Fair continues to celebrate the richness of literature, art, and social awareness, drawing an ever-growing crowd of enthusiasts.
