Lucknow/Gautambudh Nagar: U.P. RERA is conducting the training and certification programme of real estate agent on continuous basis at India Literacy Board, Kanpur road, Lucknow and National Institute of Engineering and Technology, Gautambudha Nagar. This RERA imparted training is mandatory for the real estate agents already registered with RERA as well as new individuals and institutions interested for registration. The training for first batch was started on 09th December 2024 at Lucknow which has successfully trained 5 batches so far. Gautambudha Nagar center has trained 1 batch. Next batches are set to closely follow.

The training and certification is mandatory requirement for registration of individuals and institutions as real estate agents with U.P. RERA. No new agents can be registered without submitting this certificate, nor can the registration of the agents already registered with RERA be renewed without such certificates. RERA has already informed all the registered agents and all those desirous of fresh registration for getting themselves enrolled on its portal for this training. RERA has also issued press releases to this intent on more than one occasion. The pre-registered agents are not showing sufficient interest for this training which can have adverse consequences for them.

As per the information gathered from RERA, there are 6715 agents registered with RERA out of which 4448 are from NCR and 2267 from Non-NCR region. The registration of 1867 agents from NCR and 840 from Non-NCR has lapsed. So far only 179 agents from NCR and 237 from Non-NCR districts have enrolled for this training out of which only 240 are pre-registered ones. The remaining ones are the new individuals or entities desirous for fresh registrations.

Sanjay Bhoosreddy Chairman U.P. RERA apprised about the significance of the training as well as consequences of not undertaking this training. It was stated by him that purpose of this training is capacity building of the real estate agents and RERA expects that a trained agent would be in a position to render better services to the home buyers. This training is immensely beneficial for the agents. Nobody can be able to get registration with RERA without submitting the certificate of successful completion of training. Similarly, no agent whose registration has lapsed can be able to get the renewal of his registration without submission of such training certificate. RERA has also taken important reformatory decision and removed all such agents, whose registration has lapsed, from the agent section of the real estate projects registered with RERA. No promoter can now use such agents for promotion or sale or purchase of properties, nor can such agents indulge in promotion, sale or purchase of real estate properties in any manner.

Bhoosreddy stressed that all the agents registered with RERA should enroll themselves on the web portal of U.P RERA for undertaking this training which is both mandatory and beneficial for them. RERA strongly believes that the trained agents will have better skills and capacity to render better services to the consumers.
