Lucknow: Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has directed the officials of the Horticulture and Food Processing Department to create more and more employment by setting up as many units as possible in the field of food processing.
People should be made more and more aware about the establishment of food processing units. The general public should be informed about the subsidy being given to the units to be set up in this area. Local public representatives should also be invited in the training programs being given to the people in the field of food processing.
Maurya has also directed that a plan should be prepared to give training in the field of food processing to the women of self-help groups and special attention should be paid to the quality of the products and transparency should be maintained. Establishment of small units should be encouraged, only then the income of the farmers will also increase.
The Deputy Chief Minister has directed the departmental officers to take effective action to fill the vacant posts in the Food Processing Department. Where necessary, reminders should be sent to the Commission regarding the requisitions sent to the Commission.
Directions have been given that a joint seminar of the Food Processing Department and Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission should be organized, in which the establishment of food processing based industries, training with UP SRLM and receiving new proposals should be considered. It has also been instructed that a workshop should be organized for distribution of the approved grant amount and LOC to the processing units under the Food Processing Industry Policy 2023.
